Clarity IIOT Controls Engineer

Sage Clarity is developing solutions to enable the “Next Generation Manufacturing Enterprise .” By combining best-of-breed software capabilities with advisory services, Sage Clarity delivers comprehensive solutions enabling a higher level of manufacturing and supply chain performance with real time visibility and valuable insights into manufacturing operations.

Based in downtown Chicago, we are a rapidly growing organization working with a Fortune 500 client base. Currently, we are seeking Engineers to assist Sage Clarity clients in implementing our Industry 4.0 solutions.

Role Description:

The engineer will be responsible for deploying data collection technology to our customers. The majority of work will be done remotely from a home office environment. Some travel to customer sites will be involved as well as travel to our offices in Chicago IL for company meetings. Overall estimated travel is between 15% and 25%.

Candidate will be responsible for analyzing PLC programs, identifying interlocks, faults, and other data points necessary to model equipment for data collection, monitoring, and performance analytics. Candidate will develop and implement systems using our digital twin technology.

In addition, the IIOT Controls Engineer will support new and existing clients in technology focused engagements providing implementation and training services associated with the company’s solutions. The successful candidate must be a strong change agent, comfortable working with software and service solutions.

The candidate will lead implementation initiatives  interfacing with client plant personnel controls personnel, along with operational  resources.  The candidate will manage multiple projects and coordinate client and system integrator resources.

The candidate will also support existing deployments, troubleshooting issues and resolving problems.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management or related field
• Programmable logic controllers: 3 years (Required)
• Packaging: 3 years (Required)
• Candidate must have ability to effectively communicate and work with technical staff from end-user organizations. Must be self-motivated and able to work effectively in home office environment with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to manage diverse projects from inception to completion
• Superb Excel and technical skills
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer interface skills
• Ability to travel including domestic and international travel
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer

Highly Desired Skills:

• Experience with plant floor automation and business systems including MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), OEE, or EMI (Enterprise Manufacturing Intelligence) applications
• Experience with XML or any programming languages
• Proven ability to manage diverse projects from inception to completion
• Strong Analytics background
• Proven Excel and technical skills
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer interface skills

The ideal person will have a combination of strong technical problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to blend technology with customer support services.
