The 2nd industrial revolution was led by Henry Ford in the early 1900s with mass production. The 3rd industrial revolution began in the 1970’s with the introduction of robotics and computerized manufacturing.

And now we sit at the dawn of the 4th industrial revolution and what is known as Industry 4.0. Industry 4.0  brings together technologies that enable the next generation manufacturing enterprise. It will enable scaled production with smaller and more agile factories.  Production will be more localized, supply chains will be simplified and many times more responsive.
